Staff
We maintain a high staff-child ratio and pride ourselves on good staff retention and the varied ages of adults we employ. Half the staff are qualified to CACHE level 3 and other staff are working towards this, our long-term aim is to have all qualified. All staff are paediatric first aid trained. Our manager is trained to level 4 and has 30 years' experience of working in the child-care sector - no prizes for guessing her age! We have a SENCO who is responsible for liaising with outside agencies regarding the needs of any child.
On-going training in a variety of areas is available to all staff and they are encouraged to extend their knowledge and experience. We have an Administrator who is responsible for all the financial aspects of Ducklings. We are regularly visited by our volunteer "Grandparents" who offer a wealth of life experiences to our children. We accept young adults from local secondary schools on work experience and students from varying colleges studying childcare.
