Ducklings at
St. Margaret's

Provision

We believe children should be in a safe and stimulating environment, which is also fun, so that learning is an enjoyable activity. We work to all OFSTED regulations and cover all the early learning goals in the Birth to Five format. We introduce the children to different cultures, festivals and religions and we have taster days where the children are given the chance to taste different foods from varying countries throughout the world.

We have a safe, secure enclosed outdoor area that is used all year round where the children can play, explore and learn. We have a greenhouse where the children are encouraged to help with the planting and caring of all the flowers and vegetables that are grown, this gives them a rounder knowledge as to where their food comes from.

The interior is open-planned, with zones enabling the children to benefit from all aspects of play and creativity.

We have a small sensory area that is used by all children. We are fully inclusive and work closely with all parents and outside agencies to achieve the best for each individual child's need whatever they may be.

We offer sessional or full day care for children aged between 2 and 5 years inclusive. We are registered to take 40 children at any one time, all sessions are mixed age and ability groups giving the children the opportunity to learn from each other.

Extra Activities at No Extra Cost

As well as providing all the activities you would expect at Ducklings, we also offer music and movement and children's gym, these are run on our behalf by well-known experienced companies. We believe these activities are a part of our curriculum and should be enjoyed by all the children - therefore these programmes are provided at no extra cost to you.

Before and After School

We offer before and after school and holiday care for Reception age children, this is until a place is obtained with St. Margaret's before and after school club. We advise you to put your name down with them and accept odd sessions as they are offered, this is a service that can not be offered once the child is six years old.
